WHAT WE DO

Our Approach

Our team works across child services systems, applying a research-based quality practice and improvement framework to provide consultation, evaluation, training, and technical assistance to elevate service quality and outcomes.

Quality Standards (QS) for Out-of-Home Care is a comprehensive, evidence-informed practice framework based on “what works” in helping children and youth achieve better outcomes. Our approach draws upon the QS framework to develop solutions individualized to meet program and service system requirements to promote excellence in children’s out-of-home services.

The Quality Standards Practice Framework

Our team of experts are ready to provide ongoing support in the following areas:

Research & Evaluation

Practice innovation is driven by research-informed practice and practice-informed research.

The IQCS team has decades of experience working alongside service providers and child services leaders to conduct-cutting edge research and program evaluation to identify effective strategies for real-world practice.

Quality Assurance & Improvement

Tracking progress and using data to target and optimize change is an essential element of continuous quality improvement in children’s services.

Our team has a distinguished record of success in working with state agencies to design and scale up quality improvement and assurance systems that make it easier to track progress and inform targeted improvement strategies.

Training & Technical Assistance

A key part of promoting quality improvement is to provide training and technical assistance (TA). Our team works with providers and agencies to develop comprehensive training and TA platforms informed by continuous quality assessment and improvement.

We partner with Florida State University’s Stoops Center for Communities, Families, and Children and the Gulf Coast Trauma Institute, to offer a comprehensive array of online and face-to-face workshops and trainings for child service providers at all levels.

Policy Analysis

Our team applies an inclusive approach, partnering with leading policy experts and individuals with lived experience.

We identify, analyze, and determine the consequences of existing and proposed policies that impact access, quality, and effectiveness of services for children in out-of-home care and their families.
